Bright Lights, Bistro Basement
Last Christmas, I hosted my husband's work staff party. The food was a simple potluck of Italian fair to include various lasagnas, green salad and artisan bread for dipping. To play off the Italian theme, my goal was to transform the basement into an outdoor bistro feel.
A decorating pet-peeve of mine is visible cords! I do everything to avoid seeing them from tucking under the carpet to clipping on the inner legs of side tables. I just have to share with you my trick for hanging strings of lights from the ceiling!
For a few bucks you can pick up a light socket adapter. I placed this in one of my pot lights and then simply strung my lights attaching them to the ceiling with ornament hooks. The possibilities for different themes are endless.
